Development Associate
Summary Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Public Relations & Development, the Development Associate assists with all aspects of fundraising including but not limited to direct mail campaigns, database management, sponsorships and special events, public relations, grant writing, online giving, donor communication and fulfillment, donor research, donor cultivation, major gifts and planned giving. Works closely with the Division Director, members of the Leadership Team, members of the Board’s Resource & Development Committee, and other staff. Other duties include, coordinate and expand social networking presence and other development/public relations programs as needed.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of a four (4) year college degree (BA) in journalism, communications or related discipline of study. Two (2) years office experience, managing projects; experience in a development/fundraising setting is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software programs, experience with the ACT database is a plus, Excellent communications skills, Experience with community and or public outreach, database management, Excellent writing, editing and proof reading skills, Valid CA Driver's License, proof of vehicle registration & insurance required.
